I want to take this time to explain why the Eaton Media Group has not published or updated anything since 2019 outside of our recent upload for “NES Quest.” As you all know, the hurricane that hit Nova Scotia in September of 2019 was quite devastating. It caused a lot of damage to our local infrastructure and caused a severe financial strain on the company. Seen how we do not yet make a huge amount of passive income from advertising affected our ability to return to production as the costs to rebuild everything were immense.
The primary contributing factor to me not getting back to production was a topic that I generally do not discuss with anyone. Since 2012, I’ve been suffering from PTSD & depression due to a series of events in February of 2012. Stability was becoming a bit of a problem, and I had to segregate myself from several things. I had to cut back on everything I was doing, and I proceeded to take antidepressant medication to help me deal with some of the symptoms. Everything itself was starting to get better towards the end of 2019, and I hoped to get back to work, producing in 2020. Unfortunately, when 2020 happened, oh, my wife and I lost all of our Import and Export business that we usually do with China and all of these students who were work I would edit and correct left because the schools shut down in March. My wife was still doing classes from home, and I had to completely and fundamentally change the way I did everything. I had to homeschool my children and devote my time to them instead of getting back into production. I don’t feel that I need to apologize for this because it happens, but I think some accountability is necessary because I failed myself.
As you all know, 2020 was a bad year for everyone. I started rebuilding my office and started updating software and using my free time or what little free time I had to learn new skills and improve the production quality when I finally got back to business. Unfortunately, the eating Media Group has had to cancel several projects and put them on a quasi-permanent hold due to political instability and hostilities here in Canada and the United States. The team that I was assembling from across the world does not feel that it would be safe for them to engage in such activities until stability finally returns.
At the end of 2020, on December 20th, I fell ill. I will not be getting into details, but I almost lost my life. It was an extremely traumatic experience, and I have spent the past several months trying to recover from the excessive amount of damage caused physically. The mental side effects are immense, and I’m lucky to have such good friends. I have a good family and good friends that have supported me through this trying time, and that’s why I decided to get back to work finally.
When I uploaded the NES Quest video, it was exciting for me to be back in production. Right now, I am busy working on a bunch of background research for the NES series while trying to support my younger brother in launching his Twitch streaming career. I look forward to getting back to work, and I look forward to making some excellent content, and I have several significant projects in the works. Stay tuned for updates.
