Our condolences

It is with great sadness that the team of the Eaton Media Group pass on our most sincere condolences to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, Head of the Commonwealth, with regards to the passing of her husband, His Highness Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh.

May His Highness, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, rest in peace.

A personal message to Her Majesty the Queen. The loss of a loved one can be difficult. You and your husband were married for an amazing 74 years. You are an example to those of us who must balance our responsibilities both personal and professional. You have served the people of the great nation of Canada and the other Commonwealth nations with Grace and Poise. Our hearts go out to you. Long live the Queen!

Mr. Reality Check has Arrived!

With great honour, I, Joshua Eaton, president of the Eaton Media group and host of the Mr. Reality Check podcast, present to you, our loyal subscribers, listeners, readers and viewers, the first podcast here on EMG news.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Mr. Reality Check Podcast coming April 1st.

This series started a long time ago, or at least the concept of it did. The idea for this series began when I began my political Awakening. I branched out into a Facebook page called the Intellectual Dark Web that Facebook has restricted because they don’t like the open and free discussion of topics they disapprove of.

I have since made a separate page titled under the Mr. Reality Check banner and now share content on both pages hoping to reach a greater audience. This podcast was born out of necessity. We need to talk about these issues and these things we should be able to talk about, but we’re being told we’re not allowed.

This podcast will be available in audio format on numerous podcasting platforms, including Google Podcasts and iTunes. I will be providing those links as soon as we have them supplied by our distribution Partners. It takes between 2 to 6 days for a link to generate for the very first time.

A video version of this podcast will be uploaded to YouTube. However, the first several versions will not have an actual video feed as we are in the middle of a redesign regarding the studio. We hope to have a video version of the podcast uploaded at a later date, and if possible, we may re-record the audio podcasts with video as well.

Due to these podcasts’ sensitive nature, likely, they will never be monetized on the podcasting networks or YouTube. To deal with this issue, we have made our podcasts available on Amazon Kindle, Kobo Books and Google Play Books. Although Google Play Books currently have an issue with us being able to publish content, we hope to resolve it in the next 72 hours. You can find the links for Amazon and Kobo for the first episode link below.

Our first episode will be released on April 1st. Make sure you mark that in your calendar, and we hope to see you there for the premiere episode.

From the Office of the President

Hello Everyone,

I want to take this time to explain why the Eaton Media Group has not published or updated anything since 2019 outside of our recent upload for “NES Quest.” As you all know, the hurricane that hit Nova Scotia in September of 2019 was quite devastating. It caused a lot of damage to our local infrastructure and caused a severe financial strain on the company. Seen how we do not yet make a huge amount of passive income from advertising affected our ability to return to production as the costs to rebuild everything were immense.

The primary contributing factor to me not getting back to production was a topic that I generally do not discuss with anyone. Since 2012, I’ve been suffering from PTSD & depression due to a series of events in February of 2012. Stability was becoming a bit of a problem, and I had to segregate myself from several things. I had to cut back on everything I was doing, and I proceeded to take antidepressant medication to help me deal with some of the symptoms. Everything itself was starting to get better towards the end of 2019, and I hoped to get back to work, producing in 2020. Unfortunately, when 2020 happened, oh, my wife and I lost all of our Import and Export business that we usually do with China and all of these students who were work I would edit and correct left because the schools shut down in March. My wife was still doing classes from home, and I had to completely and fundamentally change the way I did everything. I had to homeschool my children and devote my time to them instead of getting back into production. I don’t feel that I need to apologize for this because it happens, but I think some accountability is necessary because I failed myself.

As you all know, 2020 was a bad year for everyone. I started rebuilding my office and started updating software and using my free time or what little free time I had to learn new skills and improve the production quality when I finally got back to business. Unfortunately, the eating Media Group has had to cancel several projects and put them on a quasi-permanent hold due to political instability and hostilities here in Canada and the United States. The team that I was assembling from across the world does not feel that it would be safe for them to engage in such activities until stability finally returns.

At the end of 2020, on December 20th, I fell ill. I will not be getting into details, but I almost lost my life. It was an extremely traumatic experience, and I have spent the past several months trying to recover from the excessive amount of damage caused physically. The mental side effects are immense, and I’m lucky to have such good friends. I have a good family and good friends that have supported me through this trying time, and that’s why I decided to get back to work finally.

When I uploaded the NES Quest video, it was exciting for me to be back in production. Right now, I am busy working on a bunch of background research for the NES series while trying to support my younger brother in launching his Twitch streaming career. I look forward to getting back to work, and I look forward to making some excellent content, and I have several significant projects in the works. Stay tuned for updates.

NES Quest – It’s coming!

Eaton Media Group is proud to announce our return and the revamp of NES Quest. After some early success with our Mario series, we decided to step it up a notch. It was suggested that we bring in a lot more games and then one evening someone suggested “Why not just review all of them? How many games would that be?”. Well here is your answer! We have been putting a lot of work into updating the graphics, transitions and soundtrack for the Great Canadian Yeti channel over on YouTube.

Back in October 1985, Nintendo released the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) to the North American market. A total of 716 known licensed game titles were released for the NES during its life span, 679 of these games released in North America (if you count Short Order and Eggsplode! as 2 separate games) plus 2 championship cartridges, with an additional 35 released in Europe or Australia.

From Canadian Yeti
“I’m not a pro-gamer; not a noob either. I’m just a guy who likes to game in his free time. I’m a long-term member of the PCMR, but sometimes I will slum it with the console peasants (Xbox & PlayStation). We do play games as a family on our Nintendo Switch. Here I plan on uploading plenty of videos from all the different platforms in my collection. I don’t have a preference for 1 game or 1 style of gaming, so be prepared for a wide variety.”

100 Subscriber Milestone!

In the wee hours of August 22nd, 2019, we watched as our subscriber count hit 99 and then during a refresh it rolled over to 100. There was a brief pause in disbelief as its only been 2 weeks since we started our first uploads for our first series.

It might not seem like a lot of people but to us, it’s a HUGE step forward in building the success of our business. According to YouTubes rules, we cannot have a custom URL for our channel unless we meet this milestone. Well, here it is, our brand new custom URL from YouTube.

Over the past few days, we’ve been updating many of our templates and working on the SEO of our website and the YouTube channel. We’ve started to include our sponsor links on the upcoming videos are well. We are also preparing for the release of NES Quest that is currently planned for launch on September 5th.

New Advertisers!

The Eaton Media Group is proud to announce that we have 3 more advertisers! Yes it’s true, we were able to get ahold of 3 more advertisers and 2 of them were completely unexpected but 1 of the 2, had approached us! In fact, we are currently reviewing agreements with another advertiser that we would love support from but we just don’t produce enough of the right content to make it a good fit.
